Standard Test Method for Determination of Count per Volume and Size Distribution of Solid Particles in Light and Middle Distillate Fuels by Direct Imaging Analysis

Importancia y uso:

5.1 This test method is intended for evaluating the cleanliness of fuels identified in the scope.

5.2 Detection of particles can indicate degradation of the fluid condition. Particles, whether organic or inorganic, can cause fouling of fuel filters and damage pumps, injectors, and pistons. Knowledge of particle count and size can provide vital information. The direct imaging analyzer provides discrete particle images which can be further used for system diagnostic purposes.
