Standard Practice for On-Site Inspection of Installed Intumescent Fire Resistive Material
Importancia y uso:
5.1 This practice provides a standard set of procedures that are to be followed when conducting and reporting on inspections of installed fire-resistance rated assemblies protected by an IFRM.
5.2 This practice provides a means to verify compliance of the installed fire resistance assemblies to the inspection document.
5.3 This practice does not provide a basis for selecting a listed design, the fireproofing contractor, IFRM products, any other material, service, or company, or a combination thereof.
5.4 This practice does not establish any performance criteria of the inspected fire resistance assemblies.
5.5 This practice does not include some organizations operating within government-controlled facilities that are regulated and overseen by that national government’s agencies, such as defense, energy, aviation, etc. These organizations sometimes have both inspections performed by the contracting department and inspections controlled by an internal quality assurance department within the same organization, which is regulated by one or more national government agencies. The AHJ is the national government. Provided that the government regulates the entire organization, this practice does not supersede these types of governmental programs and regulations, which establish independence from internal organizational burdens and create self-sufficiency from monetary incentives. Organizations that comply with these parameters are exempted from this practice, unless the government imposes this practice as a regulatory requirement.
