5.1 Percent change between a pre-blended asphalt binder and a post-blended asphalt binder outside a pre-determined range showing dissimilar binder rheological properties as defined by this practice may have an impact on asphalt mixture field performance.

5.2 A percent change between a pre-blended asphalt binder and a post-blended asphalt binder within the pre-determined range is an indicator the additive yields similar asphalt binder rheological properties as defined by this practice.

Note 4: There are instances when asphalt binder additives or modifiers producing percent change outside a pre-determined range, defined by a specification, is justified.
